In case you missed it, guys it’s winter! It’s so freaking cold, dry and not so fun for your skin or hair. My whole body is dry. Inside of my nose is dry, my eyes are dry it’s not cool. I’m sure yours is the same way. Client after client is coming in with dry hair right now extensions or not. Dry hair can cause extra tangling, static, more oil (yep your scalp is secreting more to help you out), and BREAKAGE. Yuck.

Your hair needs extra MOISTURE right now. All the heat from heating our homes combined with the lack of humidity is brutal during this season.

So we will need to combat that. And by we I mean I hope these suggestions can help your hair be amazing this winter or at least loveable.

I recommend switching to a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner during this time. My top pick is Hydrate by Kevin Murphy, but if you need another suggestion I carry several! You’ll need a masque as well so again hydration will help a lot! I love Hydrate Masque by Kevin Murphy, 7 seconds Masque by Unite or Kerastase Magistral. If you aren’t an NBR client I also love Angel Masque by Kevin Murphy especially if you have dry damaged hair.

If you’re unsure or you need repairing as well come and talk to me about which one is right for you. I also have detailed descriptions of every single product I carry available to view on my website!

You’re also going to need to use a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER I love 7 seconds by Unite (all time favorite product), or Untangled by Kevin. Non extension wearers can also indulge in Leave in Repair by Kevin. It literally smells like Christmas in a jar. Oils, so important this season! My favorites are Unite U oil and Davines Oi BUT Unite just launched an oil JUST FOR BLONDES! What?! So exciting. I can’t wait to share it with all of my favorite blondes.

Heat styling is another thing to slow your roll on over the winter. On days you don’t need to heat style, please don’! Try to milk your blow out and style for more days. I love high ponytails and half ups when I’m trying not to use heat. I have really cute accessories in studio to keep you stylish on days you’re styling less! So stop in and let’s chat about your needs to keep your hair healthy this winter! Xoxo, Ashley
