Did you know the right products can make or break you extensions experience? some brands of hair are really only good for 2-4 months. Usually these brands are cheaper and it works out to replace them sooner. My preferred brands to work with last 6-9 months on average. Blonds always break down the fastest at 5-6 months and of course brunettes and natural colors just last longer! Sorry blondes! I choose these brands because they are the highest quality of hair on the market today. And they are exclusive meaning not any stylist can buy them, your work has to be evaluated before you’re considered.

But to really get that full time out of your hair I make sure every single one of my clients is on 4 things: the right moisture shampoo and conditioner for them, the best detanglers and leave ins out there and an oil that won’t weigh their hair down or cause tangling. How do you know which Shampoo is right for you? I can help with that. But first let’s start with the basics. No sulfates, No parabens, No proteins. Why? They will break down your extensions so much faster. On top of that they will cause tangles and mats and mess. You need hydration. Your extensions are dry. Let me help match you up to what I trust & love!

My top favs right now? Hydrate me by Kevin Murphy and Magistral by Kerastase. But depending on your hair type, preferences and budget I have several to discuss with you! Everyone wants something a little different out of their wash experience and I can help you find that!

Next you’ll need a great leave in. I love Untangled by Kevin Murphy and my all time favorite product ever 7 seconds by Unite! I love to mix these with Coconut Coctail by Color Wow and Dream Coat is a must imo as well after your first move up.

You’ll need an amazing oil and that’s a personal preference thing. I am obsessed with Unite U Oil and Davines Oi. I also like Formula 18 oil. You can’t use just any oil on your extension hair.

Sometimes this can do more harm then good. That’s why I make sure all of my clients have what they need and chat with them about product at their appointments!

A masque is a great addition in the winter months! I love Formula 18s hydrating masque, Hydrate Me by Kevin Murphy or Unite 7 seconds Masque. Again please choose your masque wisely.

With me your extensions can last 6-8 weeks or 6-9 months. It’s all in how you care for them. Keep following my blog for more tips and tricks! xoxo, Ashley
